If the hostname wasn't or cannot transmitted right using DHCP we can set it ourselves.

Therefor we edit the following three config files:

In /etc/hostname we define our desired name.

If not already there we add the following line to /etc/hosts:

the servers IP address> hostname hostname.domain

At last we remove host-name from the long line in /etc/dhcp/dhcclient.conf.

Proudly powered by Pelican, which takes great advantage of Python.

The theme is by Smashing Magazine, thanks!
